As Seen In Lorain: Where’s your sign?

We are experiencing a bumper crop of campaign signs this year.

They are appearing overnight on the treelawns of controversial vacant lots.
Oakdale & 25th.

What are the rules when it comes to signs on the treelawns of city property?

They are on almost every corner. This is Elyria & 36th.

I think this is the worst sign placement I have seen yet. I doubt anyone answered the door to give permission for these signs to be placed in the side yard of 1513 West 21st Street.
I wonder if any of them know or care that someone died in that house fire.
I don’t care how these signs got here – they need to go. NOW.

[thanks to Ree for pictures :-) ]

Nicely put, this is ridiculous. “Hey, I have to plant so many signs today. Who will care WHERE I plant them, just get it done.” I happen to think that if this is the way the campaign workers think, it comes from the top and the candidates also care this little. This is terrible. And heartbreaking for the house on 21st Street.

As for the pictures, I will ALWAYS be your partner in crime!! I’ve got your back, girlfriend!

Thanks again for your help. I’ve got a couple more of these shots to grab and I think I’m going to take on the one I sent you if you aren’t going to do anything with it.

Shame on me, because I can’t remember what picture you’re talking about. It sucks to get old!!

Regardless, I was leaving this topic to you, so go for it!

  2. Sign of the times eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I think that some of these images would stick in my mind as I choose a candidate to cast my vote for. If they can’t show caring, concern, and integrity regarding signage, why should the garner my vote? Enough said . . .

    • Lisa says:

Here’s my thing – they always blame vandals or the volunteers working their campaign..
I don’t care how the signs got there. That is the candidate’s name out there and they need to take better care of it.

This doesn’t look very nice. Are they from realtors or from different companies? I’ve never seen such aan amount of signs on one single place. – There will be soon a sign at my house I’m going to sell. But that’s all and it is still not common here putting up a sign.

    • Georgia says:

Oh, I see. This is advertising for an election?

      • Lisa says:

Yes, these are candidates in the upcoming primary election next week.. They are not following the rules of sign size or placement and the city is not enforcing the rules.

On my way home from work, I saw someone going along SR 58 between 22nd & 21st pulling Chris Cook signs out of the fields/vacant lots and throwing them in the back of a black pickup truck. I hope they went around the corner and got his signs out of the yard of the burned house. I’ll be checking in the morning.

    Taking back my neighborhood.

I threw out the signs from the empty lot in MY neighborhood.

    • Lisa says:

      Woohoo! You go Ree!

All 4 signs were still in burned house yard this morning. Came home a different way so don’t know if they had been removed during the day. Having doubts about person I saw pulling signs as being someone who was doing the right thing. All that’s left in the field on 58 are the other candidate’s signs now.
